A Path to Healing and Self-Discovery

We are excited to be offering regular Satsang Meditation group sessions to our ‘Ohana members as a way to stay connected and continue on our path of self-healing and growth. Satsang, derived from the Sanskrit words “sat” (truth) and “sangha” (community), is a meditative practice that involves gathering in the presence of a teacher or spiritual leader to explore spiritual truths and engage in meditation. This practice fosters a sense of connection, both to oneself and to others, creating a supportive environment for personal growth. We will be hosting 5x fortnightly sessions from January 2025 for just $20 per person, per session ($100 payable in advance). Each session you will delve deeper in to the practice and self-discovery. Once commenced this will be a closed group until the next start opening.

During Dawn’s apprenticeship training with Kahu Sherman Dudoit, she was exposed to many different practices and spiritual awakenings over the years of one-on-one tuition. Sherman himself had spent many years seeking knowledge in different places and origins after completing his training with his master in Maui, Hawaii. He spent considerable time in India exploring new experiences and spent time dedicated living as a monk. It was through these learnings that he was able to share and teach Satsang onto Dawn, which was usually one-on-one sitting together and would last until the understanding had been reached.

There are many different true teachers each with their own unique and special approach, beliefs and understanding. We feel it is essential that every ‘Being’ including those considered enlightened, remain humble, open and encourage new knowledge and practices.

Why is Satsang Unique?

  1. Community Focus: Unlike solitary meditation practices, Satsang emphasises group interaction. This communal aspect enhances the experience, allowing participants to share insights, support one another, and feel a sense of belonging.
  2. Guided Experience: The presence of a teacher provides guidance and clarity, helping individuals navigate their inner landscapes. This mentorship can deepen understanding and facilitate breakthroughs in personal challenges.
  3. Holistic Approach: Satsang combines various elements—meditation, chanting, discussion, and silence—creating a rich tapestry of experiences that cater to different aspects of healing and self-exploration.
  4. Truth Exploration: Participants are encouraged to explore their beliefs and experiences, promoting self-inquiry and a deeper understanding of one’s true nature, which can lead to transformative realisations.

What are the Healing Benefits of Satsang Meditation?

  1. Emotional Release: The shared experience allows participants to express emotions and release pent-up feelings in a safe environment, facilitating emotional healing.
  2. Stress Reduction: The meditative aspects promote relaxation and mindfulness, reducing stress and anxiety levels.
  3. Connection to Self and Others: Engaging in Satsang fosters a sense of community and belonging, which is essential for emotional well-being and healing.
  4. Spiritual Growth: By exploring deeper truths and personal insights, individuals often find clarity and purpose, helping them navigate their healing journeys with a renewed sense of direction.
  5. Empowerment: The collective energy of the group can empower individuals to confront their challenges, encouraging resilience and personal growth.
